Music Ministry at St. Mary's Cathedral

There has been a rich tradition of music at the Cathedral for over a century. Here are several ways to become involved in the musical life of the parish.
The Cathedral Choir
During the months of September through June, choir members volunteer their time and talent to sing for the glory of God at Sunday 10:00 Mass. The choir, open to adults and high school students, rehearses each Sunday morning at 9:00. If you have a pleasant singing voice that blends well with others, consider joining the choir. Please speak with Madeleine Grace for more information.
The Fall River Diocesan Choir
This ensemble is made up of singers from parishes throughout the Diocese and it has the honor of leading the sung prayer at special Diocesan celebrations presided by Bishop Coleman. These liturgies include the Marian Medals Ceremony and Afternoon Prayer, Diaconate and Priesthood Ordinations, and the Mass of Chrism. Experience in choral singing is preferred because of a limited rehearsal schedule. Persons who are interested are encouraged to contact Madeleine Grace (mpgrace@comcast.net) for more information.
Organ Lessons
Members of the Youth Choir who show a particular interest in the organ are given the opportunity to take lessons from Mrs. Grace.
The Hispanic Choir
This ensemble provides music for the Mass at 12:30 on Sundays. The choir rehearses during the hour before Mass. Please speak with Fr. Wilson for more information.
The Brazilian Choir
This choir specializes in contemporary Brazilian liturgical music and provides music for the Saturday 7:30 P.M. Mass. In addition to singers, the group consists of guitars and percussion. If you would like to join this choir please speak with Fr. Messias.
